NeverBounce is one of the best-known names in email verification, so most people searching for a NeverBounce alternative are not looking for a broken product. They are looking at a credit bill, a list that came back with too many unknowns, or a workflow that no longer fits.
This page compares the two products on the things that change the invoice: entry price, how catch-all and unknown results are billed, bulk limits, API access and integrations. We run email-validaton.com, so the last section is not neutral. Everything before it is written so you can test both vendors and decide for yourself.
Pricing and plan details below were checked on 28 October 2026 on NeverBounce's official pricing page. Vendors change prices; verify before you buy.

What NeverBounce does well
NeverBounce has earned its reputation. Its pay-as-you-go plan is simple, its list-cleaning workflow is mature, and it has integrations with most of the tools a marketing team already uses. The company is owned by ZoomInfo, which can be useful if you already buy data or GTM tooling from that ecosystem.
The Growth plan also bundles features beyond verification: AI scoring, automatic sync with a CRM, and list cleaning that runs without a manual upload. For a team that wants a managed workflow rather than another dashboard, that can be worth more than a lower per-credit price.
Where an alternative makes sense
There are three common reasons to look elsewhere.
1. The bill is driven by list composition, not volume. A 50,000-row B2B list can contain a large share of catch-all domains. If every catch-all or unknown result consumes a full credit, the effective cost per usable contact is much higher than the headline price per 1,000. Ask NeverBounce how your actual list mix is billed before comparing quotes.
2. You need recurring free checks, not a one-time trial. A free list analysis is useful for a single evaluation. If you verify new signups or small client lists every month, a recurring free allowance changes the economics.
3. You want the verification layer inside your own workflow. NeverBounce has broad integrations, but if you need a WordPress plugin, a simple REST endpoint, or a CSV workflow with granular statuses, check that the exact path you need is supported on your plan.

The catch-all question to ask both vendors
Catch-all is the part of verification that most comparisons ignore. A catch-all domain accepts mail at every address, so SMTP cannot prove that a specific person exists. A provider can return valid, unknown, risky or catch-all depending on how deep it probes.
Ask each vendor:
- On a list that is 30–40% catch-all, what percentage comes back valid, invalid and unknown?
- Which of those statuses consume a credit?
- Can I export the catch-all segment separately, or is it merged into valid/invalid?
- If I re-run the same list next month, do I pay again for the same uncertain addresses?
The answers matter more than the advertised accuracy percentage. A cheap provider that charges for every uncertain address can be more expensive than a higher-priced one that only bills definitive results.
A 15-minute test that works on both
Build one CSV of 100 addresses where you already know the answer:
- 30 deleted mailboxes you control.
- 25 catch-all addresses from your own list.
- 15 role addresses such as
info@andsales@. - 8 disposable addresses.
- 2 spam traps if you have them.
- 20 known-good contacts.
Upload it to NeverBounce and to Email Validator. Compare four numbers: invalid addresses caught, catch-all classification, false positives on the known-good contacts, and credits consumed. Do not compare only the percentage of invalid addresses found; false positives are the expensive mistake.
Where Email Validator fits
We built Email Validator for teams that want the result detail without paying extra for uncertainty:
- 100 free checks per month, no card, so the test above can be repeated.
- Catch-all, risky and machine-generated results are not billed as extra credits, at any volume, up to 100,000 addresses per upload.
- Single checks, bulk CSV upload, REST API, WordPress, Zapier and Google Sheets integrations.
- Granular statuses for invalid, catch-all, risky, role, disposable, spam trap and over-quota addresses.
Current prices and limits are on the pricing page. Treat this as a claim to test, not a reason to skip the test.
Migration checklist
- Export the original list and the vendor's result column; keep both.
- Re-verify instead of importing old verdicts — statuses are not portable.
- Rebuild suppression lists before the first send.
- Run both providers in parallel on new signups for one week.
- Watch bounce rate for the first two campaigns; that is the only proof the switch worked.
FAQ
Is NeverBounce a good email verifier?
Yes. It is established, has broad integrations and a mature list-cleaning workflow. The right question is whether its credit model fits your list mix, not whether it works.
How much does NeverBounce cost?
Its published pay-as-you-go price is $8 per 1,000 credits, with a Growth plan at $49/month for up to 10,000 credits, checked on 28 October 2026. Confirm current pricing on NeverBounce's site.
Does NeverBounce charge for catch-all emails?
That depends on your plan and how the result is classified. Ask NeverBounce directly and test with a seed list; do not assume catch-all is free.
Can I use Email Validator for free?
Yes — 100 checks per month, no credit card. That is enough to run the 100-address test above; paid plans start at $6/month.
